Medic Aid has been modified the following ways for little problems (though not strictly bugs) on the helpful suggestions of some of our users :-

  1. The starting window asks for a password - Default password is '9' (Single keystroke of Number 9). This can be changed by the user thereafter. There is no means available with us to find a lost password, the simplest and easiest means would be to delete the name of the user and make a new record in the masters table (File/Login/Edit Masters From the Frame Menu) this access for the master list of users will be available only to Administrators with access level 0.
  2. The user is shown only those patient's records where his (explicit Name) is that of Doctor Incharge or Referring Doctor, If you are facing a blank facesheet, it means such records in your name are not yet created. Make sure to enter your name in the doctor Incharge list - also create such an entry in the addresses Sheet for easier entry in the future.
  3. As can be made out an access system has been worked out currently only for access to the master lists and for making the Ward Bill. Access levels for the master list is 0, Those with access level and 1 can view and edit any ward bill, those with 2,3,4 can create or edit a bill within 72 hrs of creation and others (upto 9) cannot edit any ward bill but can view or print it.
  4. In the Lists window, sorting method has been changed - click on the <Sort >Button after making sure the cursor is in the column to be sorted - nearest to the possible item you want to see e.g. if you are looking for the operation Tonsillectomy, put your cursor on an item starting with T and click < Sort.>
  5. The default date format in Medic Aid is dd/mm/yy i.e date(2 digit)/ Month(2 digit)/Year(2 digit). Make sure to change the same in the regional settings item in your control panel
  6. Investigation / Radiology and Operation reports done on the date of prescription are printed in the Prescription report
  7. Doc names in facesheet disallows fullstops (e.g. Dr.)
  8. A separate Physiotherapy window has been added - this is similar to Out patients (only for full version on request)
  9. If the user had not prepared the database group for ordered investigations and inadvertently asked for it, the user was prompted to name the correct investigation group. Though that cannot be changed, sorting of the investigation group types has been done away with so the user does not inadvertently click on a unused one.
  10. A new memo type reports sheet has been added - this is for people who have to give detailed investigation reports like Endoscopy, ECG, EEG, Cytopath, and Histopathology etc.
  11. Font size of Investigation reports has been increased. (It was too small and looked odd especially if one or two reports only were to be given.
  12. As usual our latest Help File (Click here to download a zipped version) has been updated with details on how to work with these changes
  13. A Paediatric Dose maker (in relation to Child's Weight) is being readied and is available with the full version. Currently the master entries are being readied. users may start the with making entries after creating masters themselves.
  14. The OPD Number ha been discontinued and replaced with an automatic SERIES number related with the first character of the first name. e.g if first name is Raju, the series number will "R-n" whereas he is the nth person in the R series
