Introduction
In 1981, Dr S. B. Gogia, an eager young surgeon at AIIMS - India's Premier Medical Institution - was working on patients with Filarial Lymphoedema, A new treatment methodology was being tried using an Imported pump.

Though impressed by the results, a few problems were noticed :-

  • Being available at the only center in North India, patients had to come and stay nearby. Daily outpatient visits frequently required the patient to stay out of work for months on end for treatment purposes.
  • The machine was expensive.
  • The Stocking had to be imported and being customized meant a six to eight week delay in proper therapy
With the idea that we had to find an Indian solution to a largely indigenous problem, VIPEL was a conceived as a possible solution. A book has written about this concept for our India patients. Click here to view to book

VIPEL is the natural solution to filarial lymphoedema and other lymphatic and Venous disorders besides prevention of ‘Deep Venous Thrombosis’ (D.V.T.). VIPEL is an electro pneumatic fully automatic system consisting of controller unit generating air with operating panel and inflatable limb encasing. VIPEL is available in different models for hospital and patient home use and for different clinical applications
